You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

What happens when you take a rat terrier and mix it with something (we don't know what) bigger?
25 lbs of bounce, wiggle, and roll.
Little Miss Samantha is currently in foster care with Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter. She had a bit of a rough start being a baby at the shelter, after being in foster care for months she is still under a year old. She is a high energy little girl who requires a patient, confident, attentive handler. She is such an affectionate little girl, and her quirky personality will keep you entertained. Samantha would love an active family. In her current foster home she is equipped with a working dog backpack that has greatly improved her take on life. She is the type of dog who needs a purpose, something to focus on, or else all that energy is used to bounce around for attention. Samantha has done well with kids, but we would recommend she not be allowed to play with small children, as her excited energy and tendency to jump up could cause her to knock the littles down. Her current foster has brought her a long way in a very short amount of time. Two weeks ago she greeted everyone on two legs with an overabundance of excitement, now she wiggles on up to new people to politely accept their affection with only an occasional correction needed, if at all. Samantha has done well with other dogs in her foster home, but would require a meet and greet with any future fur siblings! For more information on Samantha, please email
Since Samantha is in foster care she will require an approved application for adoption! If you are interested in Samantha, please fill out an application at the link below!
