Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium)
Daisy is a sweet two year old girl who loves her walks. She likes to take her person out twice a day to get them exercise. She’s an excellent motivator for those looking for someone to get them up off of the couch. But she knows how to relax, too, enjoying her chew toys after getting in her exercise. She likes playtime with her foster dog brother, and also sometimes likes to venture to her crate on her own. She calls this her contemplating time, where she relaxes and dreams about one day having a forever family of her own that she can run and play with.
Daisy has had some disappointments in her short life. She lost her home and family during Hurricane Florence in NC in Sept. 2018. She was transported up to NOVA where a couple saw that she was looking for a home. They were told she was older but when they brought her to their vet they were told she was younger and that explained why they were not able to get her exercised enough. They had another dog and just could not handle two and begged for someone to help. They did not want her to end up in a shelter so BHS stepped in and got her into foster care.
She would be best suited for a family that is dog-experienced who will continue to build her confidence with patience and kindness. She has been going for extra training with her foster Mom.
Daisy has been dewormed, microchipped, tested for heat worm and is on preventative, spayed and has received the Distemper-Parvo combination vaccine, kennel cough vaccine and rabies vaccine.
