Meet Remi

AgeYoung BreedBoston Terrier/Beagle Sexfemale, spayed

Remi is a sweet girl who was adopted from BHS when she was two months old. She was with a litter of seven and her Mother was a Boston Terrier. The owner had a Beagle who they say was the father. It is hard to really see these breeds in her since she has long legs and very slim. She was a happy pup and went to puppy classes at High Hope. It seems as she got older she did not get along with the now three year old child. We feel she would do well in a home without the excitement and high energy of small children. She does startle easily and is easily frightened of loud noises. We feel she needs a home with less stimulation. She was also living with two other dogs. She walks well on the leash but does pull when she sees squirrel or deer she would like to chase. Remi will sit nicely for a treat and knows the command "down". She is learning to sit before she is allowed through the door. She had free access to a doggie door and fenced in yard in her previous home. In foster care she does not have the same and is more structured. She is walked three twenty minute walks a day and is crated at night. I brought her to a fenced in area to run and she always responded to her name and came to me. She probably would not if a squirrel was around but she does want to please. Remi is 28 lbs and could stand a few more lbs on her. We do not know if she does not put on weight due to her being a little nervous right now or if the other two dogs chased her from food since they were left a abundant amount of food to free feed. . Remi has been dewormed, microchipped, tested for heartworm and is on preventive, spayed and has received the Distemper-Parvo combination vaccine, Kennel Cough vaccine and Rabies vaccine.
