Luke’s mother is a 62 lb. black lab. We were told the Dad was a Heeler. Some of the pups certainly have the coloring you might expect from a Heeler but two look very similar to each other and are mostly brown. There may have been more than one Dad so we can only guess at their breeds. We only know that they are playful, adorable puppies.
They are learning to go nicely into their crate to sleep all night and just starting to learn to sit for a treat. That is going a little slowly with three of them jumping for the treat at one time. They of course have very sharp little puppy teeth right now and may not be suitable for small children who may not like getting little bites. They have not been around children in their foster home but they are very friendly and we believe they will love everyone. Luke is the smallest in the litter and of the three being fostered together apears to want to be held the most. He also seems to be more independent of the other two at this point and will walk off on his own to explore. Comes back right away when called.
Luke has been dewormed, and has received the Distemper-Parvo combination vaccine, and Kennel Cough vaccine. He has now received his second puppy vaccine and gotten microchipped.
Luke has not been neutered yet and therefore according to VA law cannot be adopted out of counties that are not contiguous to Bedford County.
His adoption fee is $200 which will also include his neutering at one of the clinics we work with. For more information, please call the Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to www.bhsva.org/adoptions-home.htm to fill out an adoption application .
