Meet Van Gogh

AgeYoung BreedBasset Hound/Hound (Unknown Type) Sexmale, neutered

Van Gogh is around 1 1/2 years and 50lbs. He is quiet and sometimes shy but loves for you to talk to him and if you have will steal his heart! We never know what life has been like for the little ones that come into our care. But we know VanGogh has not had an easy time of it. Read a note from his foster home. "VAN GOGH is missing half of one ear and his other ear is split. He is covered with scars and has a deformed leg (don't know if it's from an old injury, nutritional deficiency, birth defect, or from being kept in a small cage). He was kept outside in a tiny, filthy pen with another dog, and it's obvious that he's been beaten and kicked. He is scared, and everything inside the house (lights! ceiling fans! TV! radio!) is new and a little scary. He even runs from Finney, my 1.5 lb foster kitten! But last night he got in bed with me, and I woke up to a sweet, cuddly VAN GOGH who actually slept with his head on me. VAN GOGH would like a quiet, laid-back home, preferably with someone who is home a lot and will help him build his confidence. A home with another dog who can teach him to be a dog would be ideal.
